TO BE A JEW

Sara Ball

To be a Jew is to be on a path.

We look in all three directions for the meaning of our journey - the past, the present, the future.

We honor our heritage when we relive, through the study of Torah, our mistakes, our triumphs, our courage, our pain, our hope and our love.

We value the present and recognize it as precious, fleeting time with loved ones when we gather in celebration and joy.

We see ahead of us a perfect world and strive towards it through daily acts of consideration.

In all this we see the guiding hand of God. As Jews, we honor and love Adonai for putting us on this path and giving us the strength to stay on it.
